Chiropractic Care for Children of All Ages

Chiropractic care can help your child’s physical and emotional health throughout their life – from birth through to adulthood.

The Early Years

As parents, we do so many things to ensure our baby’s health, eating nutritious food during pregnancy, breastfeed or chose the best formula, track their height and weight. We do everything we can to make sure our baby is healthy.

Chiropractors are known to see babies with: colic, vomiting, reflux, sleeping problems, ear infections, vision problems, breastfeeding issues, to name but a few.

When Chiropractors do a thorough health history and examination these conditions can often be traced back to barely noticeable structural damage that has been manifesting since birth.

Toddler to childhood

Toddlerhood through to childhood is a very challenging time both physically and mentally. From learning to roll, crawl, walk (and fall), to running, jumping, climbing (and more falling). With each new skill comes a host of new accidents, oopsies and owies. Even a seemingly small fall can cause damage with potential long-term consequences.

We often hear parents who bring their children to a Chiropractor say their children get sick less frequently and less severely. Some parents report a reduction in ear infections and/or a reduction in medications required, others have reported a great response to asthma and allergies. There are even cases where children on the autism spectrum, after a course of Chiropractic care, can no longer be diagnosed as autistic.

Academic Performance

Chiropractic care has been a blessing for many children (and parents) who are experiencing learning difficulties.

Studies show that Chiropractic care has great success with dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, low energy, anxiety, behavioural problems and other learning difficulties. Studies also report an improvement in both school grades and IQ as a result of Chiropractic care.

Sports Performance

Chiropractors are ‘team doctors’ for all kinds of athletics. Our Chiropractors at Peak Chiropractic Centre have been the team Doctor for a number of different sports teams throughout their careers.

You will see athletes competing in tennis, swimming, golf, track and field, football (both American Football and Soccer), basketball, baseball, rugby, weightlifting and the Olympic teams consulting their Chiropractors for their natural performance boost to maintain their competitive edge.

Chiropractic care can help your child stay injury free by ensuring their body is balanced and functioning optimally, free from nervous system interference and functional stress. Chiropractic can also prevent minor injuries from becoming major ones without the use of drugs or surgery.

Chiropractic Check-Ups Are Vital

Chiropractic care is whole body health care. All children need a body free from blockages to their nervous systems. This can make a huge difference to your child’s physical and emotional health. Many of the children we check have seen results with the following:

Warning Sign

Children may have subluxations and not know it or be able to communicate what they are feeling; this is why it is important for children to be checked regularly. There are certain warning signs to look out for that may indicate that they need a Chiropractic check:

  • One hip or shoulder higher than the other
  • One hand seems lower than the other when placed at their sides
  • Shoulder blades flared out
  • A foot turned in or out
  • Joint aches (often brushed off as ‘growing pains’)
  • Can’t stand still
  • Hyperactivity
  • Neck tilt
  • Fatigue
  • Frequent falling
  • One leg shorter than the other
  • Clicking or popping (‘noisy bones’)
  • Headaches

Chiropractic care for Children, no matter their age, makes a big difference. Keep your children healthy by ensuring their natural self-healing ability is functioning at its peak and help them grow to achieve their physical and emotional potential.
